CLS should make oath voluntary

Dear Editor:

Whether or not the Christian Legal Society is an "RSO" or not, they should perhaps change their policy about mandatory signing that "oath" of theirs. Remember former SIU grad Matt Hale being denied the bar because of his "hate" viewpoints? Declaring that they are openly intolerant of same-sex sexual conduct could also be construed as taking a stance supporting organized "hate." Law students should know better than that. If they would just make that part voluntary, then their problems would all go away.
