Are blacks slaves to Democratic Party?

DEAR EDITOR:

I often read the DE to share somewhat in the experiences facing my children who attend SIUC. Of particular interest has been the various commentaries surrounding the looming election, and for me the African-American perspective. I am an African-American.

History will show that during the period of slavery in America the African-Americans' steadfast reliance on faith in a Holy God preserved them as a people. While the Democratic Party and their affiliation with Ku Klux Klan perpetuated their lynchings and demoralizing of blacks as part of their justification and promulgation of slavery, the Republican Party consistently attempted to abolish it.

It seems we as a people have again been "sold" into slavery, but this time we've done it ourselves. We have sold our votes to the Democratic Party and a more sophiscated form of enslavement, and once again the Republican Party has been consistently trying to help us go free and remain free.

While there are several issues of paramount importance to our ethnic survival, space would not permit me to explore all. However, let's look at just one issue that threatens our very existence. Today we see the deception of genocide couched in acceptable terms such as the "right to choose" to foster abortion as an acceptable practice.

In Exodus 1 we read of a government "legislating" partial abortion to control the growth of the Jewish Nation. It is no different today. The sole purpose of that procedure is population control. As a healthcare provider, I unequivocally say there is never a medically necessary reason to perform this procedure to save the woman's life. One should simply ask the question, "How does choosing to kill a baby save the mother's life?" Then the lie of this suggestion would be exposed.

My hope for my people is that we would return to our faith in a Holy God to guide our thinking and our vote. We come from an anchor that taught us to not become preoccupied with what we will eat or drink or what clothes we should wear, but rather to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all else that we need would be added.
