Finding time to vote not that difficult

I'm very glad to see that voter turn out is up in the 18-25 age group. As a deputy registrar I was very proud of my peers who took the time out to register.

However, it's not enough to just register; I'd like to encourage all my fellow voters to get out and vote Nov. 2. Just as you took the time out to sign the yellow registration form, you must also take the time out to exercise the rights you have been granted.

Our generation will be in charge sooner than we realize, and we need to build up a politically active society. The founders provided for us when they wrote the line in the preamble that says, "Ensure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity."

Let us not lose that liberty that we have been granted. The founders were thinking of you when they were constructing the constitution.

This goes for everyone in the community. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 2; Surely we can find 20 minutes within those 13 hours to go to our local polling place.

Voting is easier than you think. And if you aren't sure how, the volunteers at the polls will be more than happy to show you how to work the ballot machine. For those of you who still aren't sure who to vote for, it's not too late to read up on the issues; They are out there in full force.

Remember, decisions are made by those who show up. So show up! And I hope to see you at the polls Nov. 2.
