Cubs fan angry at vandals

I am writing in response to the article about Cubs graffiti on Grinnell Hall. As a die-hard Cubs fan, it really bothers me that whoever these knuckleheads are would bring bad press on us by doing such a senseless act of vandalism. However, do you really think this story merits front-page news? I could understand your paper putting it out there, but wouldn't you think there are a lot more important things going on around SIUC that deserve more attention? I could speculate that the people who run this paper are Cardinals or White Sox fans, but I won't digress too far. The point I really want to make here is that not all of us Cubs fans are bad people. Since this article has been put out, I can't tell you the amount of negative comments I have overheard about Cubs fans. I know that Cardinals fans aren't too fond of us to begin with, but I have been hearing more about it than usual. I did not bunch all Cardinal supporters together last summer when a couple of idiotic redbird fans dumped weed-killer on the ivy at Wrigley from their bleacher seats. I just ask others to do the same for us. It is sad that people get so worked up over a sport that it causes them to vandalize a building or to make overly rude comments. At the end of the day people need to remember that it's just a sport and it's supposed to be for fun.
