Hiring on the basis of color is racist

Dear Editor:

The DAILY EGYPTIAN and student groups calling for the hiring of more black faculty simply because they are black have forgotten one very important fact: it is racist to hire people on the basis of skin color. You seem to have learned nothing about fairness, or that people should be hired on the basis of professional credentials rather than on the superficiality of skin pigmentation.
