The DE needs more positive articles, less distasteful ones
Dear Editor:
I think the fish story was abhorrent. Particularly the part describing how it thrashed in the trunk and suffered for 4 hours before dying, while the guys who caught it went bar hopping. What makes you think someone wants to read about an animal suffering? But, considering the huge taxidermy story showing animal skins being put on plastic molds and the image of the body of a dead lion in recent DE's, I wasn't surprised. I just thought I would raise your awareness that there are probably a lot of people who feel the way I do about this. I do recognize that you did a nice article about the Humane Society of Southern Illinois recently and think it would be nice to see some more positive articles like that regarding animals and how to help them.
