Morality issues cross party lines

DEAR EDITOR:

People that are of the liberal ideology seem to be so shocked at how "middle America" has voted in the election. I don't understand why. Has America gotten so far away from our origins and values that this concept of voting for values is a foreign concept?

Some Americans seem unfamiliar with the definition of values or morality, and thus struggle to understand how President Bush was re-elected. Yes, even with all our economic woes and the war being waged, middle America voted for a president who appears to not be for the working class.

The why is easy. People are sick and tired of having liberals shove their immoral agenda down our throats under the pretense of improving our economy, health, or environment.

Please also note in this election quite a few Democrats voted Republican because of the morality issues. This election proved that the minority yelling the loudest, promoted by the media, does not represent the majority in this country. The silent majority is no longer silent.

Yes, I am upset about the economic and environmental policies of this president and consider myself to be a Democrat, but these issues still do not measure up to what is truly important in this life. What good are riches if you sell your soul to get them?
