Patriot Act Forum at Faner Hall

The Southern Illinois Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and the Jackson County League of Women Voters will sponsor a forum on the Patriot Act on at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Museum Auditorium in Faner Hall. The ACLU and the league will discuss different perspectives on the act, its national and local implications and presenting the opposition of this act to the Carbondale City Council.

Participating on the panel is Ms. Carla Coppi, associate director of International Studies and Scholars; Prof. James E. Duggan, research librarian, SIU Law School; Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas Leggans and ACLU Communications Director Edwin Yohnka.

Local residents are invited to attend this controversial piece of legislation.
