Does columnist's ideals represent younger generation?

What irony!

A recent arrival to this country knows a great deal more (and also cares a great deal more) about the principles upon which this country was founded than an American studying law at an American university (see opinion pieces by Mr. Bharthapudi and Mr. Smith in the Daily Egyptian Monday). To what extent does Mr. Smith's thinking represent the young women and men of this country? If his thinking is so bereft of idealism at his young age (no hint of concern for fairness and justice), what will he be like in five to 10 years when he may be serving the power he seems to be sucking up to now? Another foot soldier for the forces of repression?
