I was appalled by Charles Madden's column

Dear Editor,

Sorry Charlie, but I was appalled by Charles Madden's column in Thursday's Daily Egyptian. When will society (especially men such as Charles) stop blaming women, the victim? Is he suggesting only men can drink and women have to wear chastity belts?

Are only men allowed to walk the streets after dark? Apparently he has a very low opinion of men. Women will get raped by them, so if it happens, according to him, it is the woman's fault. What a great friend he is blaming his female friend for being raped! I feel sorry for her giving him the "privileged honor" to hear about what must have been a horrific experience. I hope he was not really thinking when he wrote that down. Instead of women having to make better decisions, maybe men could start listening: No means no!
