John A. student feeling reluctant about transfer

Dear editor:

I am actually responding to several things that have disheartened me as a prospective student. I live in Carbondale and work for the John A. Logan Volunteer, our school newspaper, but I am on SIUC's campus a lot. I eat at the Student Center maybe four out of six days and am sick of having to wander the tables just to find a clean one. Not only can I not find a clean table, but half of the tables wobble so bad that I spill my drink, is anyone supposed to monitor things like that? Plus I hear people talk about "Keeping the campus beautiful." Does that mean the McDonald's bags and trash I walk by are supposed to be there? And lastly why is there no news about John A. Logan in the Daily Egyptian? I don't know if you knew that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was here at John A. Logan speaking, but there was nothing in the paper before or after it happened. What's up? Just as a soon to be student, (summer of this year), SIUC has been dropping lower and lower on my list of schools I want to go to and STAY at.
