17-year-old camper allegedly robbed, beaten in Student Center restroom
A 17-year-old boy attending the Christ in Youth camp at SIUC reported that he was allegedly beaten and robbed Wednesday night in a first-floor restroom in the SIUC Student Center.
The victim, who is from Wichita, Kans., told SIUC Police he was followed into a restroom and was beaten and robbed by three unidentified black males.
According to the 17-year-old camper, he was kicked in the face and robbed of $9. He told police the suspects fled north out of the Student Center building.
The victim was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and declined transport to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
SIUC Police Capt. Todd Sigler said there are no leads regarding the three suspects at this time and is asking for the public's help in locating them.
The first suspect is described as an 18-to-22-year-old black male who is 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a red shirt, blue jean shorts and a black do-rag.
The second suspect is described as an 18-to-22-year-old black male who is 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a white shirt, blue jean shorts abd had either cornrows or a bun on the side of his head.
The third suspect is described as an 18-to-22-year-old black male who is 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds. The victim reported that he was wearing a dark blue or black shirt.
