68-year-old dies in motorcycle accident
A 68-year-old Makanda man died after his motorcycle was struck
by a van at about 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Giant City Road and the East Main Frontage Road.
David F. Clark died at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale from injuries sustained during an accident in which he was ejected from his three-wheeled motorcycle. Police said Clark was driving south on Giant City Road and was struck by a westbound van driven by Teddy O. Scholl, of Jackson, Mo.
Police reported Clark sustained head injuries during the accident but hospital officials would not give further information.
