Play communicated partly in American Sign Language
Police Deaf Near Far is scheduled to be performed at 7:30 tonight, Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday in McLeod Theater. Written and directed by SIUC theater professor David Rush, the play received a 2000 Jefferson citation for Best New Work.
The play communicates simultaneously in spoken English and American Sign Language.
The box office is open from noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to each performance. Tickets cost $11 for adults and $9 for seniors older than 60. Admission for children younger than 16 and students with a valid student ID is $6.
