Veteran who survived Iran Hostage Crisis to speak April 28
Ambassador Bruce Laingen is scheduled to speak 7:30 p.m. April 28 in the Law School Auditorium.
Laingen served 38 years in the Foreign Service. He was the highest-ranking U.S. envoy to be interned during the 444-day siege known as the Iran Hostage Crisis (1979-1981). For his service, he received the State Department‚s prestigious Award for Valor.
Laingen also served as the vice president of the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., and as the Executive Director of the National Commission on Public Service.
