Palovic, Hornestam receive fourth place at MVC Individual Tennis Championships

Juniors Zuzana Palovic and Joana Hornestam each earned fourth place in their respected flights at the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Individual Tennis Championships this weekend. Palovic played in flight three and Hornestam competed in flight four.

Junior Maria Blanco, who competed in flight one for singles finished seventh.

Freshman Amanda Taillefer played in the flight two singles and finished seventh along with fellow freshman Laura Bredniak who competed in flight five.

Men's golf heads to Murray State

The men's golf team will play at the Murray State Invitational today at the Miller Golf Course in Murray, Ky.

The teams competing against the Salukis include host team Murray State, Southeast Missouri State, Tennessee-Martin and Morehead State.

The Salukis are coming off of a team win at the John Dallio Invitational in DeKalb last week.

Softball team earns NFCA Academic Top 10 Team Honors

For the fourth year in a row the Saluki softball team has received the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Academic Top 10 Team.

The team earned a grade point average of 3.420, which is fifth in the nation during the 2003-2004 academic year.

The Salukis were also ranked above all MVC teams in the top 10.

Individually, senior pitcher Amy Harre was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team. She was named to the Academic All-District V First Team as well as the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team.

Senior outfielder Katie Jordan and former player Jenny Doehring were named to the MVC Softball Scholar-Athlete First Team for 2004.
