Floria Jhang
Floria Jhang is an industrial design major from Hoffman Estates who dreams of living on a coast someday. She hasn't decided where she would like to live, but California looks very good to her right now, especially as she plans to return home for the chill-filled holidays.
Pulse readers may have seen Floria, or "Flo" to her friends, working at the Student Center craft shop. Flo has been giving piano lessons for there for 3 years and thinks her job is simply lovely. She spends a little under 15 hours a week teaching novices. Besides giving lessons, she is also a tutor for the history department.
After college, Flo's overall goal is to be successful at everything she does.
She would like to work for a large corporation someday that is at the top of the industrial design field.
Recently, she was named Tri-Sigma president - proof that she has no problem accomplishing her goals, which are often too high for most to reach.
"I am so excited," Flo said speaking of her newly appointed position. "I can't wait for the challenges yet to come"
Flo is looking for the type of person who has a great sense of humor and a high level of intelligence, but she doesn't think those things should be traded for an ability to have fun.
If single guys makes stupid remarks or try to lay transparent pickup lines on her, she is totally turned-off. She said that guys who go out of their ways to act unlike themselves are her biggest pet peeves.
Flo is always on the go, but interested men can find her around the blue barracks. She also frequents the Panera Bread Company, her favorite restaurant. But she doesn't mind staying in and watching a few movies with "her girls."
Actually, the last date Flo had was spent watching the movie. It was "Napoleon Dynamite," but she is the kind of woman looking for something a little more extravagant. That's because she considers herself a fun, spontaneous and exciting person.
"Whatever happens, happens," she said. "I just go with it."
