Jude Law, apparently the new most attractive man on the planet, takes the reigns in this remake of Michael Caine's 1966 classic. With the story moved to New York City, Law plays a British philanderer who learns that there are some major consequences to his womanizing ways. Helping to learn these lessons are Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon and Marisa Tomei. Charles Shyer directs. Check listings for times.

The Incredibles

CGI mastermind Pixar returns to the big screen with this animated tale of a team of superheroes coming out of retirement. Bob Parr - i.e. Mr. Incredible - and his wife, Helen, long ago gave up their lives of crimefighting in order to live happy suburban lives, but when the fate of the world again hangs in the balance, they return to the fray. Featuring the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter and Samuel L. Jackson. Check listings for times.

Autumn Spring

This import fro the Czech Republic will play at 7 p.m. Sunday in the wham Auditorium as part of the International Film Series. Directed by Vladimir Michalek, the film looks at an old couple that, despite their irrepressible spirits, are preparing for death with as much humor as they can find. Lead actor Vlastimil Brodsky, star of such films as "Jakob the Liar," committed suicide shortly after this film's completion.

Thief of Time

When an anthropologist disappears at an ancient Indian ruin, weird things start to happen, including some corpses turning up along with all the other loot that robbers have been stealing. The film will play at 7 p.m. Monday in the Illinois Room of the Student Center and is sponsored by Student Development Multicultural Programs and Services. Admission is free.

Grand Illusion

Filmed in 1937, when World War II was looming just around the corner, "Grand Illusion" is a thoughtful look back at how the First World War affected Europe. Sponsored by the Global Media Research Center and the Carbondale Peace Coalition, the film will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday in room 1032 of the Communications Building. Admission is free.

Dream Keeper

A reluctant Lakota teen-ager drives her grandfather from his South Dakota reservation to a powwow in New Mexico, clashing along the generation gap at first but eventually learning in this story of tribal and cultural stories. Sponsored by Student Development Multicultural Programs and Services, the film will play at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Mackinaw Room of the Student center. Admission is free.
