Dear Editor:
The so-called whining and childish antics of the Freedom Party representatives seems to be what the student body wants. The students have chosen Mr. Jarard and Mr. Young to lead their governing body because they freely speak out against every administrative move that jeopardizes student equality. Regardless of what the DE editorial staff (which supports Wendler's tuition hike), thinks of the newly elected USG president, the student body has spoken with their votes.
In response to the Our Word statement pertaining to the powerlessness of Michael Jarard and inevitable tuition increase, I must agree. However, if the generally apathetic student body rises up in solidarity against this University's administration and stands united with Mr. Jarard and Mr. Young, we can take back the University from people like Chancellor Wendler.
It's time for all students, young and old, undergraduate and graduate, international, non-residential and residential, to mobilize into one resounding voice. Together we must help our elected leaders, who represent us, fight the administration. This is our University, not Wendler's, and we must remind him of that.
