Dear Editor:
On Thursday, April 4, 2002, the Daily Egyptian had an insert advertisement in it which focused on pro-life. I have a problem with this. If this type of advertisement is being allowed, it should represent both sides of the coin. Since I have attended school here, I have never once seen anything representing pro-choice. Another problem with the advertisement was the fact that in the cases cited of sexual assault and incest, the pro-life issue was glorified. This too makes me sick. These women have been through a traumatic experience, and in the event that pregnancy happens, is the choice life or abortion? Only that individual can answer that question. And to say "Abortion only adds to and accentuates the traumatic feelings associated with sexual assault is ridiculous. What's wrong with this picture? Sexual assault and incest are truly serious matters, but to glorify it with stories in any context is wrong. As a man, I cannot say what is right and what is wrong as far as a woman's body is concerned, but I can say there is no woman who is placed in any pregnancy situation where she doesn't have a choice in the matter. Represent both sides of the coin and let the woman choose which decision she wants to make.
