Unfair labeling speaks volumes

Dear Editor:

Ann Coulter is the first conservative, right wing guest to speak at SIU in the two years that I've been reading the Daily Egyptian. But many, many liberal speakers have come to SIU, and I do not recall that they are ever referred to as liberal, left wing, far left or radical left, even though they so often are. Perhaps people can understand why the topic of Miss Coulter's speech and forthcoming book is "The Art of a Liberal Smear Campaign: Slandering the American Right." Only Conservatives are labeled as such. Liberals are described only by their occupation, never by their political leanings, other than Democrat or Republican.
