Dear Editor:
Joseph, my dear liberal, anarchic friend. Why all the anger? Why all the pent up rage against your nation? Let me see if I can help you deal with this unhealthy condition that has overrun your heart and obviously eaten away your mind. Perhaps it's the fact that Americans enjoy the highest standard of living in the world ... that even the poorest Americans live in palatial extravagance unmatched by even the "wealthiest" Third World nations. Does that bother you? Does it bother you that this great nation has been the salvation of many poor immigrants?
Joseph, do you realize that everyone in the world wants to be here to experience America? Does that bother you? Joseph, if this is such a terrible country full of backwards, hillbilly racists, why does everyone want to come here? And why, pray tell, are there none among us dying to leave? Joseph, you have a condition known commonly referred to as liberal guilt. You feel guilty about all of the accomplishments and blessings that have been bestowed upon this great nation. I presume that your life is run by your emotions, that you cry your sad little eyes out when you read of hunger and poverty around the world.
Ahhh, but Joseph, don't you understand that this great Satan, the United States of America, gives more money in subsidies, debt relief and charity than the rest of the world COMBINED??? Is all of this lost on your poor, confused liberal soul? You say in your latest, mindless piece for the masses, "strike back against that maniacal, evil bald eagle, until it's bloody and dead." Hmmm ... is that the same bald eagle that saved the continent of Europe from Nazi Germany and the Pacific Rim from Japanese domination?
The one that gave you the opportunity to go to college and permits you the forum in which you now defecate on the very hand that has fed you. Answer me this, you poor soul ... tell me again why America isn't the greatest nation this world has ever or will ever play host to. Let's have a dialogue, my friend. Perhaps I can pull you up out of your guilt ridden state of mind. What say you?
