A flag waves in front of Pulliam Hall July 18. The Pulliam Hall clocktower has become a symbol for the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus. At night when the tower is lit, it's a beautiful sight that dots the campus.

The DAILY EGYPTIAN's Back to Campus edition is produced each summer by the DE's summer staff. More than 50 student staffers spend nearly 700 total hours writing and editing the stories, designing and creating the pages, selling and designing the ads, and shooting the negatives and plates for the press run. The three-section, 63-page edition is mailed to all new students prior to the fall semester, plus distributed to the regular DE distribution sites. The DE staff hope you enjoy the fruits of their labors.
