There were both highs and lows this weekend for the SIU cross country teams. Several runners had personal-record performances, but both teams finished lower than they had hoped at the NCAA Midwest Regionals Saturday in Stillwater, Okla.

Charlotte West Stadium receives award

Charlotte West Stadium - Rochman Field was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Monday, winning the National NFCA/Turface Field Maintenance Award in the college/university division for the 2003 season.

The award honors the SIU softball team's home field for the quality and maintenance of its fields and facilities.

The 8-month-old stadium is made up of a four-way sports turf mix outfield with a Kentucky Bluegrass primary and Crimson Stone Ultimate Series infield and features a state-of-the-art lighting system to allow night games.
